In the city's newly created Love-Park, teachers and representatives of the students' parliament of Marhanets School No 3 organize a Democracy Festival, dedicated to International Democracy Day. An interesting program of activities attracted attention of the city residents and highlighted the notion of democracy.
Everyone who wished could participate in the board game "DignityLand" and feel oneself in the shoes of a Member of Parliament. The task was to develop a state strategy on social policies. In the Social Bingo game participants were asked to identify a city social service that would assist in various life situations. Each participant received a flyer with a complete list of all important sociel services in Marhanets. The game attracted both older and young people. Visitors to the park could also put together an interactive puzzle called "My Democratic Choice". The most popular attraction of the Festival was the flash mob "Thoughts on Democracy".
“Our goal was to introduce the residents of the city to the basic principles of democratic life in an interesting interactive form. We have assembled an initiative group of active participants students and teachers. The group included members of the school parliament. We developed the concept of this Festival together, ”- said Alla Suprun, teacher-organizer of the school.
In addition to interactive games, the organizers of the Festival have prepared flyers "Human Rights and Children Rights", "Inclusion", "Where to get help in Marhanets", which distributed among visitors of the park.
During the implementation of this project, the school succeeded to establish effective cooperation with the city administration, social services, other schools and institutions of Marhanets. It was due to this fruitful partnership that the Festival could happen. It can become an annual event.
